As we headed inside for our dinner and the awards, for us to be surrounded by the best in WA Sports, we felt very privileged and honoured to have been involved in this event.
Up against the Cockburn Basketball Association and the York Pony Club as the other two finalists for our Award I headed backstage for our category. Sadly, we didn’t come away with a win. The York Pony Club were attributed the honour but what a fabulous evening for our small Dumbleyung Club to have been a part of. As I would have mentioned in the acceptance speech I didn’t get to deliver (haha) we are a small club in a small town compared to the people we were surrounded by, but the power of work and volunteering that goes into making our club and town what it is, is by no means small, and therefore to be recognised for this Healthy Club Achievement (even as a finalist and not a winner) is a credit to our club. The members of the Dumbleyung Netball Club should be very proud.
