Crowd favourite competitions included the Merino, Poll Merino, British and Australasian Sheep, Cattle and the display of utes on the main oval. Top place in the men’s only cooking competition was also up for grabs and was awarded to Cameron Brown – Congratulations!
A BIG attraction (in all meanings of the word) at this year’s event was Norman the steer from Dumbleyung. Owners and locals, Rob and Barb Atkins had the large beast on display for event goers to guess his weight for a gold coin donation. All money raised was then donated to Breast Cancer Research WA. Upon the conclusion of the event over $1431 was raised. So how much does Norman weigh? A whopping 1260kg! Well done to Mick Scott for the best guess.
This year the event organisers swapped out Perth models for gorgeous local talent, the local Wagin Netball Club. Kept busy both days, the netballers come models showcased some of the latest fashion from a range of businesses including local business Williams Woolshed.
Other entertainment included Mr. Richochet’s Family Circus Show, RAC Helicopter Rescue Experience, Skateboarding WA, live music, kids’ sideshow alley and the fun night out to conclude the event, the Saturday evening Rodeo.
Well done to the Wagin Woolorama committee on hosting another successful event and we look forward to another exciting event in 2021.
