In three short years your community hub has come a long way, achieving some pretty cool goals (and if we can’t shout it from the roof tops and pat ourselves on the back on our birthday, when can we?). Our weekly newsletter, the Quack Chat though challenging to navigate in the beginning has become a household name with over 330 subscribers and over 127 issues sent! This publication not only helps to promote and share local news, but we love knowing the great news of our Shire will be kept in the history books with issues sent to the State Library for archiving.
Since our inception we’ve held over 60 workshops, events or initiatives to assist with and/or create economic, educational and social capacity within our Shire! Yes, this sounds impressive (and we think it’s pretty amazing) but the most impressive part is YOU! Without the community’s support, many of these workshops, events and initiatives would not come to life and we greatly appreciate your attendance and/or support. All of which keep us here to provide services to our Shire.
To really celebrate and say thank you we held our third birthday party last Friday, October 19 on Dawson street from 4pm til 8pm. Over 80 people joined us, perusing the twilight markets, enjoying delicious Malaysian by Siti or Fish and Chips by ‘along came Henry’ whilst catching up with friends new and old. The CRC bouncy castle was a hit all evening as children bounced out their energy before or after seeing the talented face painter Mary.
A big thanks to the CRC committee (past and present) who have volunteered their time in bringing the CRC to where it is today. Big thanks committee members Daniel McDougall (Dougs) and Andrew Lee (AJ) for their assistance on Friday and community members Ricky Mott and Eric Gossage for lending also lending a hand.
We look forward to many more years as your community hub and can’t wait to party with you all again in 2019.
