Remembrance DayRemembrance Day this year held a special significance as Sunday November 11 2018 marked the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War. In line with the rest of the nation, around the Shire of Dumbleyung at 11am on Sunday a minutes silence was observed and dedicated to soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation. Remembrance Day is also known as Poppy Day, DEC meeting tonightA DEC general meeting will be held tonight at 5.30pm at the Dumbleyung District Club. All are welcome to attend. EOI – Walking GroupLovely Spring weather means beautiful morning and/or afternoon walks. If you are interested in joining the CRC on a casual walk once a week or once a fortnight, please let us know by emailing admin@dumbleyungcrc.com or call 9863 4829. With enough interest we will register with the ‘Heart Foundations Walking’ Program. Did you know? Community GardenThe community garden is back in full swing with the weather warming up. The part time watering roster is as below and volunteers are still needed for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Monday – Marlene Tuesday – Claudia Wednesday – Sue Thursday – Working Bee If you can help in any way that would be appreciated. Watering only takes approximately 15 minutes. Please call Gwen if you can lend a helping hand, 9863 4236. Can’t help with the watering. Maybe you can assist with setting a digital water timer, any assistance is appreciated – please contact Murray Lathwell. Lastly, the community garden is after horse manure. If you can help, please drop off at the garden located behind the Dumbleyung CRC on Dawson Street. Junior Tennis CoachingTwo sessions in Dumbleyung on November 24 and December 1.
