Happy 60th Jenny!

There’s been some milestone birthdays around the Shire, as Jenny Joyce from Kukerin turned 60.  Not looking a day over 35, Jenny was joined with friends and family for a surprise dinner at the Kukerin pub on Saturday night.  Happy birthday Jenny!!

25.1.1935 - 3.8.2016 Passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Loved wife of Roy, loving Mum to Graham and Julie, Kaylene, Julie and Raymond and Rodney. Nanna to Venessa, Bradd, Garry, Stacey, Shammy, Natalie, Hayley, Brynn, Chloe, Melissa, Sean and Brayden. Great Nanna to Alex, Mia, Benn, Luella, Tomm, Taylor, Lola, Leo, Reid, Maggie, Austin and Cooper.

Congratulations Bob -incredible initiative for Unmarked Graves

CONGRATULATIONS to Bob Bray who with the support of our community has so far raised $3540 in public donations in the first day of his onlineGoFundMe fundraising campaign to mark 90 unmarked graves in the Nippering Cemetery. 
Bob has put a lot of work into researching and marking the 90 unmarked graves at Nippering Cemetery Dumbleyung with engraved marker stones. Please read the list of unmarked graves to see if you have any relations or if you just want to help, one engraved marker stone only costs $38.50.

The Black Dog Ride WA 2016 has Dumbleyung on its map!

​The Black Dog Ride WA 2016 has Dumbleyung on its map!
Raising awareness for depression and suicide the participants of this inland ride will be hosted for lunch at the Dumbleyung Men’s shed this Thursday.
Departing from Busselton on Thursday 18th of August the group will travel a total of 451kms to Hyden, stopping off to refuel and enjoy some lunch in Dumbleyung.
Registrations to participate in the ride are still open til Thursday, so if this is something you’d like to get involved with contact Gary Pontifex on 0401 966 356 or you can donate through The GiveEasy WA 2016 Fundraising portal http://blackdogride.giveeasy.org/fundraising_event/wa2016/
All proceeds raised go towards their continued funding of Lifeline’s Online Crisis Support chat service and Mental Health First Aid’s teen MHFA program in Australia Secondary Schools.


Bioblitz coming to the Shire

A very special annual event is to be held in the Tarin Rock area in October.
This event is for those people that have an interest in exploring the bush, appreciate the outdoors and enjoys camping, wish to learn from experts, are keen to partake in surveys conducted in the bush and leave 24 hours later with increased or renewed knowledge of the area’s biodiversity values.
