The answer to this question we don’t know yet, but the town of Dumbleyung will be judged next week (week starting Monday June 25) under three categories;
- General Appearance
- Community Action and Wellbeing
- Heritage and Culture
The Shire of Dumbleyung has entered the town into this year’s competition with judges reviewing the town against a number of criteria. Including,
- Looking for/at projects that have enhanced the streetscape.
- Sound working relationships between the community and local governments leading to successful outcomes.
- Celebration, within and by the local community, of culturally significant events/traditions.
A four-year project the ‘Bluebird Precinct’ will be one of the main purposes for the judge’s visit and the great community and tourist friendly spaces the precinct has created. The ‘General Appearance’ category expands to the whole town site and all assistance is appreciated – it’s great to hear and see community members mowing their front lawn or cleaning their yards! So, if you were thinking of tidying up your yard soon, timing it just before June 25 would be a great help towards our competition entry!
Watch this space to see if Dumbleyung is awarded in any of the above categories!
