The theme this year, the 116th Wagin Agricultural Show and 47th Woolorama, was ‘Celebrating Youth, Vitality and Innovation’ with the community coming together to showcase the diversity of agricultural life in WA. Shown also was how ‘ordinary things can be done extraordinarily well’.
New Woolorama president and local farmer Howie Ward has been involved in the event for 14 years as Wool Steward and utilised the social media platform along with the updated interactive website to give Woolorama a proactive approach to reach a diverse demographic.
“Everything went well and was full up” reported Howie, “With Friday’s numbers up on last year and Saturday numbers only just under. Thank you to everyone who came in the weather, as it was.”
Howie clocked up 50,840 steps on his pedometer over three days. This mustn’t have exhausted Howie too much as he played for Dumbleyung in the tennis semi-final at Dudinin the next day. Well done Howie, you are a true inspiration.
Congratulations to all the volunteers and everyone involved in bringing together yet another wonderful event.
