The Dumbleyung Shire provided the gravel and machinery and the pavers were provided by Kukerin Townscape, which now line the gravel path. 155 metres of gravel was laid, levelled and compacted, and pavers were laid at the edge of the path running northwest from the current graves location to some of the original graves.
The team completed the task on the day and the finished product will allow easier access to the historical graves.
We then retired to the Kukerin Hotel where we refreshed ourselves and Bob provided us with much appreciated nourishment.
If anyone can shed any light as to why the cemetery was split in this fashion or to the history of the souls interred in these out of the way graves it would be appreciated, please call Catherine Watkin on 9864 6046.
