In terms of equipment we have now upgraded to the Philips FR3 Heartstart defibrillators with QCPR thanks to funding from Lotteries West to fit out both ambulances. We have a new training manikin with the ability to take airway intervention, simulate pulse, blood pressure, CPR and defibrillation. This will be a fantastic asset in our training.
We extend a warm welcome to new volunteer Rosemary Marshall from Kukerin and new Community Paramedic Donelle Carver. The Community Paramedic covers a number of local sub centres assisting with training and urgent callouts among many other things. There are a number of Community Paramedics situated around regional WA.
Our best wishes go to Shonel Bennett and Nicola Treloar who are preparing to welcome their new babies into the world.
Our ongoing training and upgraded equipment means we are always ready for any situation that may arise. Please consider volunteering with St John Ambulance Dumbleyung and Kukerin for a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
